The "worldwide first maternal and infant biobank", cooperating with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli
Hanmi Science set up a maternal and infant biobank in Italy.
"COREE Group", headquartered in Milan, said on the 27th of this month: Hanmi Science has signed and concluded an agreement with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Affiliated Hospital of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to set up a special maternal and infant biobank.

According to the purpose of setting up the biobank, the biobank will provide the great-leap-forward reference value for maternal and infant research in the future. Therefore, the biobank is named as "Mother and Child and Beyond".
COREE Group said that there are biobanks aiming at newborn, but the biobank for maternal and infant is still the first one in the world.
"Mother and Child and Beyond" targets to the effect of intestinal microbial gene information of pregnant women and fetuses on fetuses' growth and health and collects relevant health and disease data of newborns.
Giovanni Scambia, the chairman of Italy Obstetricians and Gynecologists Association and Dr. Lorenzo Morelli, the expert of Symbio probiotics research led various research subjects including pregnancy analysis. Macrogen, a DNA analysis company from South Korea, is responsible for big data analysis of accumulated samples.
COREE Group saidthat taking advantage of the cooperation, Hanmi Science has obtained more than 3,500 pregnant woman and newborn sample information from Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to reasearch drugs and foods in line with personal characteristics, and based on this, the commercialization will be achieved in the future.
On the other hand, Hanmi Science said that aiming at the health of maternal and infant, Hanmi Science will provide systematic prenatal and postnatal management services. "Woman centre", a South Korean style confinement center, is expected to be opened at the end of the year, with the supports by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli.
